Red Rice & Sausage

This southern staple is full of flavor!
Here’s a simple recipe using basic ingredients you probably already have in the pantry!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups uncooked long grain rice
2 tablespoons butter
15 slices smoked beef sausage
1/4 cup onion – chopped
1/4 cup green bell pepper – diced
2 cups chicken broth
14.5 oz can crushed tomatoes

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, combine rice, butter, sausage, onion and bell pepper. Stir fry.
  2. Stir in broth and tomatoes, bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and reduce heat.
  3. Simmer 25 – 30 minutes. Enjoy!
